Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Doctors (MDs/DOs) are both highly trained medical professionals who diagnose, treat, and manage health conditions — but their training paths and care approaches differ slightly. NPs hold advanced graduate education (Master’s or Doctorate in Nursing Practice), are trained in both medical science and holistic patient-centered nursing care, they can diagnose illnesses, order and interpret labs/imaging, prescribe medications, and manage chronic and acute conditions. In Washington State, NPs have full practice authority, meaning they practice independently without physician oversight. Many patients choose NPs for their personalized, accessible, and holistic approach, while some conditions may require physician or specialist referral. At NPIH, we collaborate with specialists as needed to ensure you receive the most comprehensive, evidence-based care.

The flexibility that telehealth offered and waivers applied during the COVID-19 Pandemic have expired as of October 1, 2025. Due to federal changes many insurances have changed the coverage options for these services. At NPIH, we recognize that recent insurance changes have reduced or eliminated telehealth coverage for many patients. To continue supporting flexible access to care, we offer telehealth appointments on an out-of-pocket basis. Our goal is to ensure you still have convenient options when you need them.

NPIH is honored to care for our Veteran community. We bill insurance for all medical visits when coverage allows. For VA disability-related documentation—including Nexus Letters—these services are offered at standardized, out-of-pocket rates. These evaluations are performed independently and are not billable to insurance. We provide thorough, evidence-based evaluations to support your needs
-
NPIH partners with several national laboratories to give our patients options.
We do our best to route lab work through your insurance when possible, but we cannot guarantee insurance coverage or final billing outcomes, as each plan determines what is considered medically necessary.
For patients without insurance — or those who prefer not to use insurance —we offer discounted out-of-pocket lab pricing to ensure accessibility and transparency for routine and advanced testing. -
Peptide therapy uses short chains of amino acids—called peptides—that act as signaling molecules in the body. These peptides can support various functions such as improving energy, enhancing recovery, supporting metabolism, optimizing hormones, improving sleep, and promoting tissue repair.
At NPIH, peptide therapy is offered in a medically supervised, individualized way to support patients seeking functional and integrative approaches to wellness. Treatment plans are based on your specific goals, labs, and health history.

Functional Medicine is a patient-centered, science-based approach to healthcare that focuses on identifying and addressing the root causes of symptoms—rather than only treating them when they appear.
At NPIH, Functional Medicine means:
Whole-person care: We look at how your hormones, gut health, stress, sleep, nutrition, lifestyle, and environment work together.
Personalized plans: Every patient receives a customized treatment approach based on their unique biology—not a one-size-fits-all protocol.
Root-cause discovery: We use targeted assessments, advanced lab testing, and in-depth history-taking to understand why symptoms occur.
Evidence-based integrative care: We blend traditional primary care with modern functional medicine, hormone optimization, metabolic support, and preventive strategies.
Empowerment & education: We help you understand your health, your labs, and your long-term wellness plan so you feel confident and supported.

NPIH does not manage Washington State L&I work-related injury claims and is not an occupational medicine clinic. For motor vehicle accident–related visits, services are cash-pay at the time of care. We do not bill auto insurance or attorneys directly, but we can provide receipts for reimbursement if applicable. For more information please give us a call.
